All around good!

I recently heard about a product that has a great story and mission behind it. Soapbox Soaps.
You buy one and they give one. For every product sold, a bar of soap or a month of clean water is given to a person in need.

Check out the story here.

I have been on the lookout for the products and finally saw them at my local Target. Needing conditioner, I grabbed a bottle to try. It smells so good and my hair is smooth and silky.

Stitch Fix #3

Ok, let's be real. I tried Stitch Fix for the third and Final time.  I asked my stylist for casual items and something to go with my new Toms Del Rey sneakers.  I also stated that I wanted them to look at my pinterest board that these are the items that I like. From what I can tell, they didn't read the comments or even look at my pinterest board. I even updated it to specific detail before I order the fix.  This is what is frustrating to me.

The note I got didn't mention anything about the comments I had left for them. Also, in my mind and friends that I should my items to, this stylist is not good at putting items together.

My first item was a black faux leather trim tank from Loveapella. Returned

This hold true to the faux leather term, it looks like plastic vinyl. It was very clingy and bunchy where the "leather" trim was.

Next, a Pixley Carlynn Printed Skirt. Returned

This skirt fit okay, but nothing I would ever pick. It looks like a tablecloth my Grandma had. I will completely admit that I am short. But this hit in a very strange place on my shin. I have no idea what I would ever wear with it. She suggested I wear it with the black tank(above).

As you can tell, I'm still not excited about this box, after that was an orange/red and creamy print wrap tank by 41Hawthorn. Returned

This was not a good fit for me. It again was very clingy, let me mention that my profile states, I like my shirts loose.  On me it looks very matronly, which I am a mother, but let's not add years.

Since we are still on a roll. These jeans by Pistola (Tory Distressed Ankle Zip Skinny Jean) were almost a contender. Returned

A bit tight around the waist, and the length was workable. But I don't need another pair of jeans that are too tight. They are also more expensive than I normally spend on jeans.

Finally, the one thing I was excited about. This is such a cute tank by Skies are Blue (Ernie Crochet Detail Top) with pretty detail. Keep

I technically didn't keep it, my daughter did. It was a bit tight around the bust, otherwise this would be in my closet!! I love the pattern and color.

I reviewed all of my items on the app and sadly sent the package back. If I hadn't kept the blue tank, it would have been my second box that I didn't keep anything. Clearly Stitch Fix isn't my thing, if you have any suggestions for other clothing subscription services, let me know.

A fun new spaces (for me they're new)

I had the opportunity to spend most of the day in Seward, NE for work. With a day open to do whatever I want.
I started out at Chapters Book Store. Where I picked up a copy of  The Meanings of Names. Cute little store with LOTS of kids books and local Nebraska books.

Then I hung out at JD's Coffee Shop, just down the street from Chapters. Grabbed an iced coffee and started reading. This is not typically me, so I get distracted easily.

One of my goals was to visit the Udder Store  quilt shop, it's a sister store of my favorite shop in Lincoln. Comparing it to Cosmic Cow, it was a little disappointing. But none of the less, I still picked up a few things. I made one more stop before lunch at Allure Fashions. I will definitely go back to this store. Very cute clothes, with Nebraska and Husker items mixed in. Very helpful staff, suggesting items and discussing what we thought about Stitch Fix.  Check them out if you are in the area.
I wandered back to JD's for lunch and did a little more reading before our group was ready to head back.

My 2nd Box- :(

Round 2...

I received my 2nd Stitch Fix, Friday. I was excited to see what they picked for me. I opened it up and was really excited at first. Then I read my "note", and she suggested that the shoes included would go with he dress and the shorts. Not sure that I would put that together.

The shoes- Nine West Yippee T-strap Sandals

I think they would have fit had the straps across the toes would have not been so tight.  I don't know that I would have picked bluish purple sandals either.  I had a friend over last night and she tried them on, same thing.

The shorts- Dear John Finnegan Roll Cuff Shorts

These had a weird fit. They were tight, but if they had been a tad bit looser, I would have kept these. They were in a light lilac color, very cute.

The dress- 41Hawthorn Rocco Jersey Faux Wrap Dress

She suggested this for a night out while we are on vacation. It's a cute wrap dress, but very heavy stretch fabric. No way, I would have chosen this at a store.

The jeans- Kut From the Kloth Kate Distressed Boyfriend Jeans

This was the only item I debated about keeping. They fit well, but were a bit to long, even rolled  up. I have a similar pair, so decided that I really didn't need another pair like those.

The top- Fun2Fun Ronald Front Pocket Blouse

I really liked this one. But it was a little tight in the bust.  The pattern is so cute and fresh.

Summary- I was really hoping for some casual outfits for our trip. I wrote a more specific want request and still didn't hit a homerun. I am kind of disappointed and will wait a few months before I do it again. I would like to find another service like this and see how it is compared to stitch fix.  As you might be able to tell, I didn't keep anything.

My new love!

I can't say enough how much I am in love with this tank!  I have it in this blue and an army green. I would totally buy the black one, but I've been told I have way to much black in my wardrobe. Not sure what that is supposed to mean :)  I have tried on the white one, but it's a bit see thru for me.

First Box

My first StitchFix box arrived Friday, April 29th.  I was super excited to see what inside.   before I opened the 2 packages inside, I read over the intro card and inspiration guide. There was also a price sheet enclosed.

First up, was a black dolman knit top.  I really liked the feel of it, super soft and cozy. I tried it on with the jeans I had on.  I didn't want to take it off!

Next was a floral, peach/tan, very sheer, clingy, and WAY to big top. As you can tell, I was not impressed by this one.

Then there was a navy and peach trimmed open backed top. I wasn't very excited about this one either. It's nice on the hanger, but not on me.

The stylist suggested that the 3 tops would work well with the peach/coral skirt that was included. The skirt was ok, but a bit more see-thru than I would have picked.  I have seen more coverage skirts for a smaller price.

Last, but not least, was the pretty blue/gray cross-body purse. Adjustable, and just enough room, for my huge wallet, keys and a few other things.

To sum up, for my first box, it was a fairly good experience. I only kept the purse and probably would have kept the black shirt, but when I tried it on with other things in my closet, I didn't like it as much.   I filled out the survey questions about each item, to assist for the next time.  I will continue to add things I really like to my pinterest page and I have updated what I would like on my next box.

I think I would almost like 5 separate items than 4 things that are supposed to go together. There's always next time.

Let me know what you experience has been, if you have tried StitchFix or another box subscription service.

Welcome!

Here's a little bit about me-
*Pinterest lover
*Keeper of 3 kids ( 2 regular sized and 1 adult male attached to me by this shiny thing 💍)
*Once the kids are out of the house, I would love to have a tiny house in the country
*Quilter
*Love my Ipsy bags
*And finally, Brand New to Stitchfix

For a while now, I've been wanting to try stitch fix. I drug my feet, because I am afraid that I will get something that won't fit right and can't try on another size at that time. Or the fact that I am not going to the store, picking out something and wearing it.
Although, it would be nice not to have to go to the store and feel defeated of not finding something.
I wanted to write down some thoughts before my first package arrives. I am not sure if I will post pic of my items on or each piece just chillin' on my bed.
